Images posting to Facebook, Google , Reddit

When I publish a blog post, I try to promote to all the social networking. Setting aside the actual value of it (it’s hit an miss), I know that having a photo related to the article can really drive readership. And I work at getting the appropriately snarky/cynical/sarcastic photo that fits with my scientific skepticism writing.

But it’s been hit and miss. Sometimes the image shows up on Facebook and Pinterest, but not on Reddit or Google+. Actually Pinterest works about 100% of the time. The others don’t.

What’s worse is that the default image is a black and white Twitter logo (I’d post a screenshot, but I can’t).

Here’s my latest post where, instead of the picture of the contributor, the Twitter bird shows up on Facebook and Google+.
