  • It looks like the image is actually missing from the location that the page is pointing to. It’s possible that the plugin messed around with the location of things.

If you edit the post and click on add image, is the image available in the media library? If it is, see if you can re-insert it into the post and if it remains there after you update the post.

Alternatively, check the path of the image and see if it’s still in that location on the server.

    Which plugin caused this?

So far I cannot tell which one it could be… I was trying out seveal security ones. Also, I just remembered that I updated WordPress to the newest version… the blog was only created in October, so I was not running a very old version.

I went into admin to edit one of the posts and see that the row of icons usually viewable right above where you add the content are showing blank – like for bold, center, ect. Looks really screwy. I removed the box where the image should be and reuploaded it with a different name and still the same results. The image does not appear, just a blank box where I write the blog post and then when I publish.

Updating from an old version might have changed something as well…

As a first step, I would export the blog and try to import it to a local installation. Do you have xampp (or the likes) on your computer?
