    Hi,

We tested with some images on our websites and plugin worked like a charm.

The issue is when we deactivated your plugin. The single product and thumbnail images reverted back to the original uncropped one.

We were of the opinion that once the images are resized by your plugin we could keep using them forever regardless your plugin is activated or not.

Is there a way we could continue using the images resized by your plugin even when the plugin is not active.

    Thanks

    Hi @dheeraj-singh

    Thanks for asking!

In most cases, it should work even if the plugin is deactivated. However, some themes and image optimization plugins load images differently so we need to do some work under the hook in order to load images properly.

Also, by keeping the plugin active, newly uploaded images are automatically adjusted and resized, so you won’t need to regenerate thumbnails each time.

I hope that clarifies things for you.
Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions. I’ll be more than happy to assist.

    Best,

    Hi Nabil.

    Thanks. That makes sense.

I am using Flatsome theme and I reckon they use shop_catalog for product category and shop_single for product pages.

Which thumbnail name does your plugin use for

    1. Product Category
    2. Product page
    3. Related products widget on the products page

Also is there a way to force the theme to use the thumbnails generated by your plugin when the plugin is deactivated. Maybe using some hooks/custom code through functions.php.

    Regards

    Hi @dheeraj-singh

The plugin doesn’t create new sizes, instead, it does correct existing ones added by WooCommerce or your theme which are selected by default in the “Sizes” list under WooCommerce > Smart Image Resize.

In most case, images still load correctly even if the plugin is deactivated. However, sometimes, plugins including WooCommerce regenerate thumbnails for different reasons so I’d recommend to keep it activate to make sure images load properly.

    I hope this helps.

    Best,
    Nabil
