• Hi.

When I try and upload images to my media library, I get an error message that says “The uploaded file could not be moved to uploads/2017/01.”

I have tried uploading images I already have on the site, but even these will not upload.

I have another website and everything works fine with that.

I use a web based version of WordPress and it is hosted with a web hosting company.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Check the ownership and permissions on the directory wp-content/uploads/2017/01. Make sure they match the ownership and permissions on wp-content/uploads and the other directories therein.

    Hi.

    Thanks for the reply.

Where do I find the permissions settings? Everything we do is on-line, we have nothing stored on a computer. We have a web hosting company that stores all the files. Would I need to go through the files they have, or is a link somewhere that I am just not seeing (that is a possibility).

    Thanks

Permissions and ownership are set on the host. You can view/modify them through the hosting control panel or your FTP application.
