• Hey All,

I use a Mac and I used Photoshop Elements to modify an image I have used on my website (I put text on the image). When I click the insert/edit image button, and go to upload this image, the image is not coming up anymore. What shows up is text (Lorem ipsum, etc.). The image has a jpeg extention and seems the same as my other images that are not Photoshop modified.

Any suggestions? Do I need to do something in Photoshop to make it usable in WordPress?

    Thanks.

  • No – WordPress should be able to access/use any standard .jpg file. Perhaps it has something to do with what you’re actually saving? Are you selecting the correct file format or just changing the file extension?

I’m getting the same issue. Suddenly I’m getting upload failed messages.

I am also having the problem. I suspect that when I moved the blog directory, the database is still pointing to the old upload directory.

    Hi,

Assign 755 recursive permissions to wp-contents folder and upload the images and fist have a check with direct access to taht image file..if it works and do not work in the post then try to disable all plugins and upgrade wordpress to the latest version…

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

Also disable Google Gears if you have that running/installed in Firefox.

Maybe you are using the User Access Manager plugin?
I have the same issue, and it appeared that UAM is interfering with the media library; deactivating the plugin, brought the images back to live.

(I’m using WP 2.8.1 and the problem occurred after upgrade from 2.7)

    HI There,

We are getting this error when trying to upload anything to the media library

Unable to create directory /var/www/vhosts/wrightresult.com/httpdocs/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

There is no automatically created ‘uploads’ folder in wp-content – wp-content directory is set at 755. Server is apache/linux using latest plesk.

Everything else on installed 2.8.1 WP works fine, including auto upgrade and plugin upgrade.

Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated

Chmod the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767 or 777.
