The page looks like the page just won’t load. I suspect that if you turn on the error messages – even temporarily – you will see what is wrong. So, by far I think the PHP GD2 library that the plugin would use is simply missing.
Please write what error WordPress writes to the log!

I checked my server and if library is the same as extension, then I do have the PHP GD (without the 2) installed on my server. Otherwise, please let me know how can I get the PHP GD2 library and where to save it.

I see an error calling the imagewebp() function. As a quick fix, I ask that you turn off WebP support in the plugin settings.
Please be patient and I will modify the plugin so that it does not cause any problems. I’m still applying …

I updated the plugin. (1.43) It now monitors imagewebp () support and does not cause an error if it is missing. (Of course, WebP support is not available at this time either.)

Notice the following issues:
1. I am assuming the front images are thumbnails and when I click on it it will open the bigger image set to 800×600 in the lightbox. However, it just shows the same thumbnail.
2. When I click the X to close the lightbox, the gallery disappear from the page.
3. Although the description of the functions on the download page mention it is capable of handling text, customizing templates and simple content inserting, I was unable to find how to use these functions on the detail page pf the plugin.

Please advise.

Yes, you are right! I apologize.
The plugin started from the – erroneous – assumption that a webp image exists. I had to rework the template handling. The new version (1.44) is already available. If you update the plugin, it will resolve issues 1 and 2.

I removed all pictures from gallery folder including _thumbs folder. Then, I upload new pics to generate a new photo gallery. I did it using Filezilla to test the program without the need to use the plugin backend. I simply wanted to test the plugin generating the gallery by itself once any pictures are uploaded into the desire folder. This folder will always be the same, except that the user can change the photos via FTP anytime. In that way, the webpage will show the pictures uploaded recently. It seems everything is working fine, but I found these error in the error-log file:
