    Hi there,

Between the Basic and the Super setting there is no visible difference in the quality or the weight of the compressed images, having done a lot of testing. I am trying to get an image with no loss of clarity, but even on your “Basic” option the image lacks sharpness in comparison to the original. Can you please advise?

    Hello @dav74,

I hope you’re doing great today!

Please note, that Smush only can only compress jpeg/jpg, and png image files, and the images will only be compressed if the result would be an image with a smaller file size.

In order for us to help troubleshooting the issue, our techs would need to check a few examples of the optimized and original images on your site. Could you please send URLs of the pages with the affected images, and let us know which Smush Mode setting was applied (Basic, or Super).

    Looking forward to your reply!

    Best Regards,
    Dmytro

    Hi Dmytro,

I replied to you by email a few days ago with images but yet to hear back from you. Would you be able to answer my questions on that? Much appreicated.

    Hello @dav74

May we know which email you replied to? If you replied to the wp.org email, I’m afraid we will not receive it as the email is a no-reply.

Do you mind sharing the example image here on this topic?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards,
    Amin

Thanks for your reply. Would it be possible to have an email address for you to which I can send an email? I have several photos and prefer not to post them publicly, as I don’t have permission for that.

    Hey @dav74

Hope this message finds you well.

Thanks for sharing the images in the email, but I could not reproduce the issue. I also replied to your email with my test results.

    Best regards,
    Laura

    Hi @wpmudevsupport3

Thanks for your reply. How are you testing this? It is not really much help if you cannot reproduce this. Did you use Elementor to create a flex box with a 1340px content width, and then import an image using the Smush settings I had used? Could you send me a link (via my email address – not here please) of the test you did so I can see how you did the test. I am pretty sure if you test the same as our setup you will have the same results. Many thanks Laura
