Images Not Optimized Even With This Plugin

    I am using WP Smush Plugin. My website I’m working on is theme1.1stopnonprofitshop.com. Before using this plugin, it was a 0 for image optimization. I thought I loaded proper image sizes…as nothing exceeds a few hundred kb. I used this plugin, and it still shows 0 for image optimization. How do I fix this issue?

    Hey @sdr2585,

    Any particular reason for having all the images as GIF? as none of them seems to be animated, so you can easily have them as JPG/PNG.

    Can you possibly re-upload those images as JPG/PNG?

    When I took web design class I was taught to save images for the web instead of jpg so I guess that’s the format it saves in. I’m just trying to get the images optimized and not sure what’s going wrong.

    GIF should only ever be used if you need animation. It is very large and can’t really be optimized much at all.

    PNG should be used for computer generated graphics or ones with few colors or where you need transparency.

    JPG should be used for photographic content.
