Images not opening in lightbox after WP 4.5.1 update

My galleries have been working fine until the WP 4.5.1 update today. Now images open in a separate browser window instead of a Fancybox slideshow. I have deactivated all plugins, cleared the cache and reactivated Netgen (v 2.1.31). I have not changed ANYTHING on the site. I also verified that the Netgen settings are showing Fancybox as the Lightbox Effects option and is applied to only nextgen images. All pages with galleries are now behaving this way.
