Images not attaching

  • Little confused. I’m doing a new site and for the first time need to move my images separately.

    I did manage to FTP all the images from the past 5 years to the uploads folder. I was told to use Add from Server after that. I knew it was going to take time. But even after it actually does the importing and I can see them in the Media library they are still attached to the pages/posts. I have way too many to manually attach them. Do I have to do that?

    I do not see the Import Option you have on the screenshot to Attach to Posts. Am I doing something wrong?

    Things are only attached to posts when you import it from within the Media Dialogue (New Post/Edit Post -> Add Media), not from the general Media Import menu.

    The screenshots are from WordPress circa 4 years ago, when the plugin was first developed.

    I’d highly suggest you stop using FTP for uploading media, and instead use the WordPress media manager.

    This is the first time (and last) I have ever done it and will be the last. I n just need a clean DB. And it’s irritating when you say yes to attachments and then they don’t go.
