Images not appearing with posts after 4.4 upgrade

    After upgrading to WP 4.4 today, none of the previously set featured images are showing, either inside the post admin area (you can see “remove featured image,” but no image appears there) or on the live site. I tried regenerating thumbnails, and removing and replacing the featured image, to no effect.

    In the media library, everything appears fine.

    Right now this is just on a test site, but any advice would be helpful.

    thanks for using MH Newsdesk lite.

    We just tested this and can’t replicate the issue. For us featured images are displaying fine in the latest version of the theme and WordPress 4.4. There also are no other users reporting any issues like this.

    However, we heard already of several people that they have issues with images after updating to WordPress 4.4 (e.g. Featured Images Broken in Back End after 4.4 Update). There have been a few changes in WP 4.4 regarding images and it’s possible that there is a bug somewhere in WordPress, which usually gets fixed soon.

    It’s also possible that your issue simply is related to your test environment somehow or any plugins which you might have installed as we can’t replicate this at all. But if you want to be on the safe side, you could wait a few days with updating your live site to WP 4.4 until the WordPress core developers have sorted everything out and fixed possible bugs in WP 4.4.
