Images not appearing – front end and back end

I have a web comic but a few days ago I noticed that none of the comics are appearing, both on the back-end and front end.
They just show up as their image name on the front end and they just appear as grey boxes in my Media Library. Not even my fav icon is showing up. What could be the issue?
