Images no loading!

Hi again, the issue isn’t actually caused by Easing Slider “Lite”. Your colorbox script (possibly a plugin?) is having problems, generating an error. This is breaking jQuery, consequently preventing anything that requires it (such as Easing Slider).

You’ll need to have the error corrected, otherwise you may have to find an alternative solution until the developer of the colorbox plugin resolves the issue.

I seem to have the same problem on a website I’m building for a client: https://www.studiostien.nl/de-stadhouder/. Sometimes the pictures show up, but most of the time the plugin keeps loading.

I use WordPress 3.5.1 and Easing Slider Lite 2.1. I have updated the plugin today. With version 1.2.1 of the plugin I didn’t have the issue and everything worked just fine.

I have disabled all other plugins, but that doesn’t solve the issue. I even tried the twenty twelve theme which comes with a fresh WP install, but there I seem to have the same issue. So I guess it wouldn’t be a problem with the theme.

Can you please help me out on this?

Hi @studio Stien, I’m seeing no problems at all. I’ve tried Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera and IE8. Everytime the slideshow loads perfectly, and there are no errors on the page.

I’m not sure what else I can do, are you sure you’re not having connection problems or caching issues? What browser are you using?

Again, working perfectly everytime for me. I’ve even tried throttling my internet connection to make it deliberately slow. Make sure as well that your page isn’t ‘hanging’, giving the perception the slideshow isn’t loading. It won’t show until the page has loaded.

The hanging issue would make sense considering you’re still experiencing this problem with no other plugins active and using the default theme. In this environment, Easing Slider “Lite”s javascript is guaranteed to work perfectly, no exceptions (from IE7 onwards).

hopefully this might help you, but when i had this problem a few days ago, i just had to go into WordPress and i had a Cache plugin. i Deleted Cache, and voila, all the images then showed.

so maybe try that?

I would have thought the same, but they’ve mentioned that they still saw the issue with all of their other plugins disabled. Seems more like a ‘hanging’ issue to me, with which the slideshow isn’t loading because an item on the page is preventing it from loading completely (at which point the slideshow loads).

The problem occurs with IE9. Firefox and Chrome don’t show the issue. How can I determine if the page is ‘hanging’?

I don’t have a cheching plugin and tried with all other plugins disabled. I even tried to make a new empty static page with nothing but the slider in it. This doesn’t solve anything.

Is this an IE9 bug?

Hi @studio, seems very odd. I’ve just gotten my virtual machines sorted so going to start looking into potential IE9 issues. Before trying to debug further, could you give the development version of the plugin a try? It can be downloaded here.

Some Javascript changes have been made to it that may resolve the issue. Make sure you clear your browser cache before checking.

I’ve had a look at your site and I’m seeing no problems at all. The slideshow is working fine every time. What browser are you using? Are you sure that the page isn’t “hanging” and failing to fully load occasionally?
