Unless I specify an image, the results for the image returned is different for many different posts/pages?

This page does not have an image assigned to your plugin, but it does have a featured image and images in the post.

On the page specific above I get the following warning form FB:
“The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.”

When posting or scraping, sometimes it will display the FB Broken Image , image or the featured or the logo form the home page – try’s random at best. I am assuming because your code is not using the og:image?

My assumption is that any page w/o a specific image assigned your tag will use the featured image and therefore when no image is assigned the og:image should still be there, but wit the feature image url?

    What am I missing?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi — That is a good question. Yes, the plugin should use the dedicated field first, then fall back to the featured image, and then to the first image inside of the post content.

    A couple of questions:

    * Are you using a page builder plugin of some sort? This might be messing with what content the plugin is looking at, preventing it from finding the first image successfully.

    * Are you using any other plugin to manage SEO that might be conflicting with Complete Open Graph?

I have also noticed that if I have copy in the Excerpt field but NOT your Description field – you plugin gets the description for the Post Body, not the Excerpt.

I am not using a Page Builder on top of a different theme, but I am using the Divi Theme from Elegant Themes. https://www.elegantthemes.com/gallery/divi/

On this site – there are no other SEO plugins installed.

If you would like, I can clone this site and give you admin access to the close to take a look? Just send me an email to [email protected] with the email you would like added and I’ll petit up.

I’ll start troubleshooting the excerpt issue. I think I might know what’s going on there.

I also sent you an email about getting access to a clone. I’d love to dig in & figure out what’s going on.

Update: A broken WordPress attachment ID was attached to the Complete Open Graph image field on the post, which was causing it to be used rather than the post content or featured image. Removing this issue resolves the problem. I’ll try to work in some error-checking for the future, to prevent others from having the same problem.
