One of the main issues that PageSpeed Insights always finds in my web is that images are not being loaded with lazy load.

That’s weird because it’s activated in Smush and I don’t find anything wrong in the entire set up. What I have thought is that maybe Asset Optimization from Hummingbird could be loading this “lazy load” script in the footer, causing this.

I don’t really know. I would like to read some suggestions about what could be hapenning. Also glad to give any extra information needed.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello there @dariohuertacontact

Have you disabled Smush Lazy Load at the moment?
Cause I can see in the HTML markup of frontend that tags are getting lazy loaded but they now have a class like “ezlazyloaded” while our plugin is adding classes like “lazyloaded” instead.

    Please advise,
    Dimitris

Okay, so as far as I’m concerned, Smush Lazy Load is not disabled, but maybe that other class is interfering with its result.

I guess that class is from some other plugin that I tried a time ago…

    What would you recommend me?

I could either try to install that plugin again and check if I can delete everything with it, or add some additional css. Does that make sense?

I’ll be looking forward your reply.
    Thanks.

    Hi @dariohuertacontact

The class would indeed be from some other plugin or from currently active theme. If it’s from another plugin that was already removed then it means that some cache is involved – because no plugin should make any permanent changes like this to the site’s HTML code.

But I think it might be related to Ezoic plugin, which, I believe, you do have installed on the site. It seems that apart form connecting the site to their platform it’s also doing some sort of asset optimization.

I’m not familiar with this solution but please look through the options and see if there’s any way/switch to disable lazy load there for your site’s content (other than possibly content “injected” by them, if there is any). Multiple lazy load features enabled at once (especially if they are not “browser-native” but performed with JS scripts) may be conflicting, I’m afraid.

Make also sure that Lazy Load is not enabled in any other plugin and in theme options and once they all are disabled – except Smush one – clear all caches on site/server.

Let us know about results, please.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    You’re right.

    Thank you.

I’ll be these days activating and disabling properties in the plugin as well as in Ezoic, to check how the website works the best.

So far I’m marking this post as resolved because my main issue was to figure out what was causing the problem (I didn’t think about Ezoic because it’s not in WordPress dashboard ?? ).

    Again, thank you.
    Best regards.
