Images in sub-directories

  • Is it possible to organise images into sub-directories?

    I am transferring an existing HTML site with a large number of images, all carefully organised into sub-directories of <image> so that I can find and use them. Is there a plugin that will help me create/upload these images whilst still retaining at least some elements of the image subdirectories? Or that can organise them into subdirectories within the WordPress interface.
