Images in posts should open in the same window as popups

Hello, i searched many places but wasn’t able to find anything related to what i need ?? (maybe i don’t know the exact keywords to search)

is there any plugin here in wordpress such that clicking any image in a blogpost won’t result in users going out of the website to just the ‘.jpg’ url.

what i want is if anyone clicks on any image on my blog, the image opens in the same window as a popup (not exactly a popup window!.. i don’t exactly know how to explain this!)

i need something like what’s already there in blogger by default.

for example, this blogger blog as it: (https://ilolster.blogspot.in/2011/12/michael-jackson-art-exclusive-look-at.html) just go to this link and click on any image of this blogpost.

is it possible to get the same thing in wordpress?
