• Hello there,

This happened around 4 months ago but due to other stuff I haven’t been able to start working on this error until now.

Suddenly, overnight, the images in my site stopped working.

You can see no images here:
    https://lifehacking.tech/

For instance my hero shot in the homepage has this URL:
    https://lifehacking.tech/files/2020/04/miguel-guzman-life-hacking.png

And it should redirect to the appropriate blog id in the files dir, which is this image (which is actually working):
    https://lifehacking.tech/wp-content/blogs.dir/2/files/2020/04/miguel-guzman-life-hacking.png

(Just now, I noticed that the https version of the image was giving me a security error on firefox, tried the simple http version, it worked, tried again the https and it worked too. Don’t know if this secured/unsecured thing is affecting the issue).

On my network admin, if I go to the site settings, the file path is the correct one:

    upload_path wp-content/blogs.dir/2/files

So maybe it’s an .htaccess redirect file. I haven’t changed that in the recent past, and actually it’s been a long time since I touched that. Maybe the hosting company has edited it somehow, but I can’t tell just by reading it.

Also, this is a very old installation which I set up more than a decade ago when WordPressMU was a separate software installation. Don’t know if that might affect the issue either.

    Thanks in advance !

    Miguel GM

    Solved.

It was my hosting’s fault. They added a security rule for image loading. It seems it was breaking up the multisite redirection.

To the admins: you can close or remove the post if appropriate, thanks.
