Images In Admin Gallery Greyed Out

In newer WordPress seems like we need to put [gallery] in our Posts to see the gallery. When I used [easy_image_gallery gallery=”321″] in the post I got multiple copies of the same images. The [gallery] translated to “[gallery ids="26795,26797,26798,26799,26800,26801,26802,26803,26804,26805,26806,26807,26808,26809,26810,26811,26812,26813,26814,26816,26817,26819"]” in the text. Which is the correct method?

Also, in Gallery dialog in the Admin page all the images are “greyed out”.
