Images help

I’m really struggling to get my images in a line on a page.
I want a list of products on a page so maybe want three images across the page, three under, three under that etc. I want people to view the products I offer then I will link the image to the product description page. Am I best with a plug in or what is the best way to get the images on a page as I want them? I know how to upload images and have aligned left, right, centre etc but the images end up in different positions and not one after the other.
Any help would be most welcome.
