Working on a client site, launched and with all updated themes and WP OS. Yesterday we did a walk through to show her how to make updates. Today, she did a blog post and everything vanished. I can see no settings that were changed (and she said she didn’t change anything, and is not the sort to be misleading). Have checked all Settings options and they seem fine. Images ARE in the media library, but not showing up anywhere, including the custom banner. Doesn’t seem to be a hosting issue as I checked another site on same host (GoDaddy) and that one is fine.

What am I missing? I’ve checked the forums for similar topics but am not finding anything helpful to this situation.

    TIA.

  • Replace the theme with an unedited (freshly downloaded) copy of the theme Twenty Ten and see if it helps.

Seems like something s wrong with permissions but thats a wild guess.

I didn’t do any edits to the theme code at all at any point. The images were gone this morning before I updated the theme (which I did in the hopes of getting the images back. I’ll try a theme re-install just to be safe…

I checked Media under Settings and nothing appears different. Checking the Media tab shows all images in the Library but no indication of permissions changes.

Oh joy. I deleted the theme (switching to another first), and now I can’t get into the theme installer to get a new version. Anyone else unable to access themes at WordPress?

(and the images are still not working in the replaced theme that I put in place while attempting to get a fresh Twenty Ten copy.)

This is specific to your site.

I see your backend is now accessible, you are probably using TwentyTen theme now.
Image are not shown as you have got image link wrong.

Like for home page image points to “https://temp.aquamarinecomm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Home-aquamarines-edit.jpg”

This is wrong, and returned 404 anyway, this subdomain “temp” is wrong. When I tried image url with your main domain like “https://aquamarinecomm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Home-aquamarines-edit.jpg” it works perfectly.

So you probably did an test on “temp.aquamarinecomm.com” and copied the whole thing on main root folder, and your media folder location is wrong maybe. Fix that everything should work just fine.

Yeah I got on the phone with Go Daddy to find about the access to the theme installer and it magically came back.

Asif, thanks for spotting that issue. We did move the directory for the site form build to live. Everything worked fine yesterday. I wonder why it all went screwy today. I did not do any tests or copy, but followed the GoDaddy instructions for directory change. Working on the fix now, thanks!

Hm, when I got into the Media Library and view each image for its path, none of them show temp.aq… as the root so now I am confused again. Argh.

Never mind. Found it. Changing paths. Thanks, Asif!
