Images Grayed out– link still leads to picture

If you go to https://www.elvennoir.com/?page_id=270 you can see that some of the images are greyed out. If you click the image boxes, a new window opens and the image is displayed. Why is that happening? I tried changing the image files from .tiff to .png and that didn’t seem to help at all.

I can view all the images just fine in safari but neither ie or firefox show the images as they should be, you have to click through to see them. I checked my misc. settings and both fields are blank as they should be.
