• I have a bizarre problem which I suspect has got something to do with the hosting server, nevertheless I figured I would get the communities opinion on the issue.

? This a brand-new install which I have now performed on 2 distinct sites.
    ? In one case I installed 4.7.2 & upgraded to 4.8, in the other I installed 4.8.
? Only themes installed are default themes and twentyseventeen.
? I have not installed any plugins or modified any setting
? The server does caching, but it does have the option of purging cache, enabling development mode and completely turn off the cache. I first did the first two and then completely turned off cache.

    Issue:
    1. In the backend, the screenshots for the themes do not display. Firefox does not display anything. IE displays an X for a missing image.

    2. On the front end the image does not display.

But If I specifically open the respective images in a browser
    https://www.domainname.com/wp-content/themes/twentyseventeen/screenshot.png
    https://www.domainname.com/wp-content/themes/twentyseventeen/assets/images/header.jpg
The images then display in the backend and the front end. I have tried different browsers and different computers.
Other than that, everything else seems to work fine.
    Thoughts?

    Update:
The band aid fix I mentioned above is only temporary and seems to only work for IE , not Firefox. However after a while it stops working with IE too and you have to do the fix again.
