• Hi, I set up this site a few mths ago with no major hitches-all was going well. A few days ago I went in to make some minor text mods and realized some probs with the images mainly in Chrome so did some investigating over last few days-it usually solves the problem…as don′t like wasting folks′ precious time unless I′m out of ideas… so here I am… the background:
WP SITE: WP version 4.9.6, site media used is 1 video & 5 images, TwentySeventeen theme used (no customization), a couple of text widgets used, a number of plugins activated (Akismet, Google Ana WP Monsterinsights, HealthCheck, Polylang, Really simple SSL, W3 Total Cache, Yoast SEO). All worked OK for the first few months.
PROBLEM: on Chrome only 1 image & the video load properly; on Firefox all images & video load properly; MS Edge all but one image & video load properly (I can live with this as they′re not vital); Safari all images load correctly, video doesn′t (same as before…not an issue for me). MAIN ISSUE is Chrome. Actually, the images sometimes load for a split second where they should appear and then go grey (in one section where image or grey area should be, it′s blank).
SOLUTIONS TRIED: checked many forums. As scripts seem to be an issue sometimes, I deleted the only script I added to all text sections: Google Analytics code. Also saw that some plugins are an issue (like Jetpack-though I don′t use this one), I deactivated ALL above plugins except Polylang and Really Simple SSL.
POSSIBILITIES: the only thing I can think of is the latest updates may not have liked something. As I hadn′t been into my WP panel for about 1-2 wks, when I accessed, there were several updates pending so updated all (still had GA code on the pages & all plugins activated). Then I made the minor text mods-and saw the prob. As a final possibility, I tried re-installing WP a couple of times…no good.
“Voilà le problème”…out of ideas now…

    Hi Kartik,

had a busy one yesterday but went in today to delete the line you indicated. Did so and most of the images began appearing again-only one was missing (the contact image which is not really important). However, thought I′d play around with it as I had a bit of time…so I put the line back in as it was…and now all images appear again as usual.
No idea why…mystery of bits and bytes…if I have any issue, I′ll go back and take the line code out again.
Again, thank you very much as it has solved the problem.

    Cheers.
    Jim.
