Images do no show up anymore, changed from jpg into jepg

    I think after changing the database prefix from WP_ to something else, for security reasons, somehow the image files won’t show anymore. The description of all images in my media library changed from JPG (which they are) to JPEG. I only see blank squares instead of the thumbnail previews on the media library page. When I upload a image that was allready in the upload folder before the database change, it shows the picture as JPG and I see the thumbnail preview in the media library.

    I don’t want to upload all images again, because it is lots of work to re-assign them again to all the different posts…

    Is there another way to fix this?

  • So your saying that you just changed the WP_ prefix and then that happened and you’ve done nothing else? No other updates or edits to the code?

    First I made a dump of the database by using ccontrol panel of my hosting provider. Then I opened this file into a text editor and replaced all wp_ prefixes to ****_ (* only example character)

    I then selected all the tables in MyPHP admin and used the DROP command. After that I imported the changed database file again into MYSQL.

    I did however not stumbled upon this problem right away (did not check/found out) , so after this I also updated my WordPress install from 3.6.1 english to 3.6.1 nl_NL. I did this by FTP, overwriting all files/folders except the wp-content folder with the files of the downloaded 3.6.1 nl_NL package. Could something went wrong there?

    I think the issue is in the database, as all the Original images are still in place which worked before. only somehow the tags are replaced from JPG to JPEG files…
