• Hi guys,

I’ve been very happy with your plugin, it’s great.

I’m having an issue with my images, and it seems that it is related with the CloudFlare cache, so I’m wondering if you guys could assist me.

I’m serving my images both from a CDN, and from wp-admin – media. A few of these images served from wp-adming – media disappeared. It only showed an interrogation symbol, I could only see them when I click on them. These images also disappeared from my dashboard, and the front-end. It seems that they disappeared only in desktop in the front-end.

At first I disabled plugins, erased all caches, etc. So, I contacted my hosting provider, and they adviced me to erase cache. So, I purged all cache with your plugin and the issue seems to be fixed for now.

Would you guys have an idea how I can avoid this to happen again? Is there something I could do in your plugin settings?

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi,
from what I can see on your website, the images are not being served by your Cloudflare account but instead some b-cdn.net. Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/aGAU7BV.jpeg

So, cloudflare has no control or access over it as they are not being served by Cloudflare.

Also on the back end (wp-admin) cloudflare caching doesn’t work and it bypasses all requests, so, the chances of this being caused by Cloudflare is very unlikely.

Personally, I have no idea why you would need this extra CDN for your images. If you are already using Cloudflare, you can just get the CF PRO plan for 20$/mo which will give you unlimited image optimization and also WebP support. So, you don’t need any other CDN. All of your images will be using the same URL that is your domain name and will be served by Cloudflare.

But from what you have said, it really doesn’t seem like a Cloudflare issue. Might be this other CDN is causing some conflict or something, hard to say without actually looking at the problem.

    Hi Saumya,

I’m not serving all my images from the other CDN. The images that are disappearing, are the images that I have in wp. For example, an image just disappeared in the buttom, as you can see here: https://mayangatewayimages.b-cdn.net/Screenshots/Screen%20Shot%202022-05-05%20at%2010.15.39.png

This image also disappeared in wp-admin – media library as you can see here: https://mayangatewayimages.b-cdn.net/Screenshots/Screen%20Shot%202022-05-05%20at%2010.18.59.png

I’m still using many images from wp, in most of my pages as you can see for example in this one: https://mayangateway.com/guatemala-a-bit-of-everything/#similar – this images sometimes disappear too even from my dashboard as you can see here: https://mayangatewayimages.b-cdn.net/Screenshots/Screen%20Shot%202022-05-04%20at%2016.45.59.png

The images saved in my wp are the ones that are having this issue. The images that I served through the CDN have never given me any issues, and they are working fine.

I still suspect that is something that has to do with the cache, or something is creating a conflict with the cache because when I purge the cache I fix the problem. But that is only a temporary solution because then the next day, images disappear again.

I’ve had CloudFlare Pro since a long time ago, and I tried to serve my images through ClouFlare a while a go too, but at that time it didn’t work well yet. This service was in Beta. I may do it in the future but ,y website has 170+ pages, so it’s a big project, and as I said the images served through the other CDN are not giving problems. Even when I manage to serve all my images through a CDN, I still need some images in wp for example for the Future images of the posts.

I hope I could explain myself better this time. It’s a bit difficult to explain it in a message.

Thank you again for your help!

Hi, when I accessed this image: https://mayangateway.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Paypal-and-credit-cards-300×40.png it is showing as a broken image. But this is not happening from this plugin as this plugin doesn’t do any image processing. Check if you have any plugins in your site related to image processing. All this plugin does is cache items that’s it.

Whereas when I accessed the original image i.e. https://mayangateway.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Paypal-and-credit-cards.png that works perfectly without any issues.

    Hi Saumya,

Thank you again for checking. I understand, I thought it had something to do with the cache, because when I purge all cache the issue is fixed temporary. All I do with the images is lazy load. Anyway, I’ll try to find what the problem is, I appreciate your time.
