    Howdy.

I’m a little new to WordPress, and have a kludgy, sloppy knowledge of HTML. I own that. I just did something terrible to my installation, and I have no idea what.

    Here’s my site: https://www.guildofscientifictroubadours.com

As you can tell, it’s using a Pool theme with a few tweaks in style.css for font styles and colors and such. Most importantly, I suppose, I’ve replaced logo.gif and blockquote.png with my own graphics – same place, same name as the old ones. For two weeks, just about, everything was fine.

Then, last night, I was doing a little tweaking – I changed the font color on links, made the background color behind entry headings transparent (or just removed it – I can’t recall exactly due to HEAD TRAUMA from WHACKING IT ON THE DESK), and I added those cute little subscription links to the sidebar. I tried adding a feed plugin (Subscribe Me), but uninstalled it when I saw it not working.

And then I noticed that my header image was gone. I hadn’t emptied the cache before hitting refresh for the last few changes, so I’m not sure exactly *when* it vanished, but it was sometime last night.

I’ve also noticed that the blockquote graphic is gone, now. (It should look like a sine wave illustration.)

Everything else is fine, but I can’t for the life of me bring the images back – I’ve searched the forums, edited the stylesheet every which way, edited and unedited a few bits of php in the header.php file, and nothing seems to matter.

Have they left me forever? What is hiding them from me?

Thanks in advance for any advice. I’m going to go drink some iced tea to calm my shattered nerves.
