Images deleted from media but still showing in posts

    I have deleted over 300 images from the media library but they are still showing up in posts etc. They no longer show in the media library. I got in touch with Cloudways support and they confirmed that although the images appear to be gone they have not been removed from WorPress! The images used for ‘featured image’ no longer show but within posts/ galleries etc they are still there. I would appreciate any support on this

    Have you already cleared the cache of the Breeze optimisation plugin you are using?

    If so and nothing changes: deactivate this plugin.

    If nothing changes even then, please give us a concrete example that we can use to look at this from the outside.

    Hi, thank you for your support. I went through the usual processes: cleared browser cache, varnish etc. I also deactivated the Breeze plugin to no avail. Coudways informed me it wasn’t an issue with the cache and it appeared the images were still in WordPress even though they didn’t show up in the media folder. When they deleted an image from a post it was gone! So I went through all 70+ posts and deleted them from within them. This appeared to do the trick. Very strange and again I appreciate your support.
