Images at the end of post URLs in the redirection error logs

    I have been using redirection to track the 404 and create 301 redirects. But recently, in the logs I notices links like this:
    /alexandru-repanun-adevarat-actor?/2010?/02?/27?/images?/spacer.gif

    The correct url is /alexandru-repanun-adevarat-actor?/2010?/02?/27?/

    Why would an image be at the end of the URL?
    The links are almost always associated with the google bot IP.

    Any advice/help is appreciated.
