Images are turning into Post

When you add/upload the image to the post, make sure it is set to link to Image File or None.

It didn’t work. It still created a post.

Part of that reason is images are considered a post type: attachment. What part are you wanting to turn off specifically?

I added this image to a page (https://bgrtest.dreamhosters.com/about_bgr/on-the-pavement-with-toni-ashley/)
and it created a post page with the title of the image and the image is a thumbnail

Issue resolved. I had plugin activated that created a post automatically from an image. Sorry ??
