    Hello,

I recently downloaded your plugin and optimized all of the images using the “Bulk Image Optimization” button. It now says that all of the images have been converted to webP images, but when I access pages on the site, it’s still serving up the JGP’s and PNGs.

I thought that this plugin would replace the images on the site with webP, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Is there something I’m missing? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Hi @ccandg,

Thank you for your message. I will try to explain you everything below.

Please tell me, have you read how the plugin works? You will find this information in several places, such as the plugin description on www.remarpro.com, a pinned thread on this support forum and a side widget in the plugin settings panel.

I ran a test on your website. I simulated browsers with and without WebP support to make sure everything was working. Thanks to this, I can check how much your original images weigh (i.e. what was before installing our plugin) and how much the images converted by our plugin weigh.

Here are the results of my tests:

This means that the plugin is working properly and all images are displayed in the version converted by the plugin.

Below I have attached the tutorial describing how to test the plugin:
    https://mattplugins.com/docs/how-to-test-converter-for-media-plugin

I also recommend you to try the AVIF format on your website. I did an analysis to learn more about the potential benefits of using the AVIF format for you. Images converted to the AVIF format on your website will weigh 36% less than images converted to WebP only, maintaining even better image quality. This will further improve the performance of your website.

    Best,
    Mateusz
