    Hello,

My site uses the Arras theme, I am using WordPress 3.0 and my host is Network Solutions.

Yesterday my site died. It wouldn’t load and I was unable to log in to the CMS.

After hours of battling with Network Solutions the site was up again but the posts were not working. I somehow managed to fix that but now the images in posts are not showing up.

The Network Solutions tech guy did move my admin login page from .com/blog/wp-admin to .com/wp-admin – could that be the problem?

    Or is it something else?

    My site is https://tinyurl.com/3aa6hw4

I’ve had a look on Firebug and can’t personally see any issue but I am not desperately technical.

I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me. Any suggestions etc.

  • Hmm, that is very strange. I have the exact same problem, but in reverse. My pics show on my posts, but not my homepage.

This happened around the same time that I changed the path to my library so that it actually worked. So, we both had path changes, and we both have screwed up media.

I really can’t tell you much, but I think once I figure out my troubles, I’ll have some insight into yours…hopefully.

Or, maybe we’ll get lucky, and someone who actually knows what they are talking about will know immediately, and tell us!

    Beautiful site BTW.

    Hi Jake

Thanks. Yes, I think that because the path to my login changed the media screwed up. But that’s only a guess. As I said, I’m not too technical! I hope you solve your problem! If you can shed any light, that’d be fantastic. Hopefully someone else out there may have some ideas for us both.

Jake, not sure if you’ll read this or if it’ll be of any help but I talked to my service provider who ran a mysql query. Information is below.

Affected rows: 3040 (Query took 46.8318 sec)
    SQL query:
    UPDATE wp_posts SET post_content = replace( post_content, ‘BLOGNAME.com/blog/’, ‘BLOGNAME.com/’ ) WHERE post_content LIKE ‘%BLOGNAME.com/blog/%’

Maybe this will help shed some light on your problem.

Well, your problem seems to have gotten fixed!

Sadly, mine is not. Either my pictures work and I have no access to my library, or my library works, but the pictures on the front page don’t.

A-ha. That makes complete sense, I can’t believe I didn’t think of it!

I’ve been routing around in mine too. The pointers to the pics are actually embedded in the post, and they look both correct and absolute, so I dunno what the trouble is.

Yeah, not the path troubles for me.

It looks as though my ‘get_the_image’ function that pulls the <img> code from a post and renders it as a thumbnail has become nonexistent/completely dysfunctional somehow.

This function is not a theme function, and I have absolutely no clue how or where the function is defined.

If anyone has any clues or ideas, I’d LOVE to hear them!

The function that scans the post and makes a thumbnail of the pic it finds seems to have gone janky on me.
It is not a theme specific function.
I have no clue how or where this function is defined, so I can’t have a look at it.

Any insights anybody has would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sorry ’bout the dupe posts, I’m half asleep or something. I guess a moderator will have to delete, I can’t.
