    Hi, thanks for your plugin.

Question #1: Using Chrome Dev Tool, I noticed the AVIF files are loading as expected. But when I run a Performance test using Webpagetest, I noticed the images are loaded twice. Here is a screenshot: https://tinyurl.com/ypyfo2d5
    Is this expected behavior?

Question #2: My server runs on Apache. Upon reviewing the htaccess, I did not see any Rewrite rules for CompressX. Is this normal?

    Thank you.

    Hello @ntijani ,

Thank you for using ComnpressX plugin.

Question #1: Image conversion alters MIME types, leaving file name suffixes unchanged. This leads to the images being treated as separate entities.

Question #2: CompressX rewrite rules are located in the ‘/wp-content/.htaccess’ file.

    Kind regards.

    Hello @ntijani ,

Regarding Question #1, we require additional time to investigate and suspect the images may be different.

Could you please confirm if the images that loaded twice are identical, except for their file name suffixes?

    Kind regards.

“Image conversion alters MIME types, leaving file name suffixes unchanged. This leads to the images being treated as separate entities.” –> Understood, thanks.

“Regarding Question #1, we require additional time to investigate and suspect the images may be different.” –> Understood, thanks.

“Could you please confirm if the images that loaded twice are identical, except for their file name suffixes?” –> Yes, they are identical, except for their file name suffixes.

“Question #2: “CompressX rewrite rules are located in the ‘/wp-content/.htaccess’ file.” –> Thanks; I understand this. I was asking because when I looked at the ‘/wp-content/.htaccess’ file, I did not see any rewrite rules for CompressX.

FYI, I was able to resolve the issue by changing the file name and reuploading it to the page.

I also located the CompressX rewrite rules in the?‘/wp-content/.htaccess’. I previously mistook it for the ‘public_html/.htaccess’.

All set now. Thank you for your time and support.
