Images are importing as post featured image but don’t appear in post

The feed to post is working great, but the posts have no images in them. The images are being downloaded, and they appear as the featured images, but they are just not appearing in the actual posts even though the image tag is included in the content configuration.

My item content is set to this: [#item_image][#item_content][#item_url]

Can you tell me what might be going wrong and how to fix it?

p.s. I checked with the simplepie link checker and it doesn’t show the images either, but I know the plugin is actually importing them as they are showing as the post featured images and they are all in the media library — just not in the post content.
