Images are created in multiple dimensions and stored in multiple folders. The WPZOOM Social Feed Widget & Block plugin creates multiple instances of the same image. I saw some images in 270 different dimensions or with other file names, all related to the same Instagram post. A single image that was used for an Instagram post resulted in this plugin generating 270 different image files! Additionally, I noticed that the plugin saved images from Instagram posts that were published in the last month in the folder /wp-content/uploads/2020/10. The images from Instagram posts of the previous month were saved in the wrong folder by the WPZOOM plugin. As a result, my server has exceeded its total capacity, causing this issue with WPZOOM!

    Hello @vritomartis

Are you using the free or PRO version of the plugin?

Our plugin saves each image in 4 sizes, as those are the only sizes provided by the Instagram API.

Here’s the number of images generated on a new WP install with a default theme:
    https://d.pr/i/QPVnjL

Some of those image sizes are really small (5-10KB), so they don’t take up any space at all.

In my example, a simple feed showing 9 images resulted in an extra 5MB of space taken from your hosting.

Most of the hosting companies nowadays offer 10-20GB of storage for really low prices, so I don’t see how our plugin could fill that storage unless you have an Instagram account with a lot of images.

Maybe you have used a different Instagram plugin before that generated those files? Or maybe you’ve been using our plugin for a long time, and this was just a problem in a very old version?

I suggest you delete all those files from your server and let the plugin generate new images. Maybe it will generate now only 4 sizes for each image.

Thank you for your reply. I am using the free version of the plugin. My hosting plan is on Siteground. For example today without posting anything on instagram i have a folder on wp-content/uploads/2023/08 with images from old posts on instagram. How is it possible? The feed that i have, consists of 8 instagram posts. It seems like each day somehow all those 8 images are created again and again.

@vritomartis What theme are you using? Can you provide a link to the website where you use the plugin?

Could you reply here with a list of all your active plugins or the entire site info, which you can get from Tools > Site health > Info? https://d.pr/i/Ok9SHE

No sensitive info is included in the “site info”.

By the way, I have used the plugin for many years on my personal website, and the plugin doesn’t generate duplicated images like in your case.

Here’s the total size in MB of the “uploads” folder: https://d.pr/i/mq18RO
In 2015 I uploaded some images from my camera, so it’s not related to the plugin.
