Images appear sideways only on mobile devices and Pinterest

  • Some of my images are appearing sideways on my iPhone, iPad, and Pinterest. However, they are appearing correctly on my laptop. When I uploaded the images, they were correct on my computer, uploaded sideways on my dashboard, so I edited them to turn them the correct way. They look perfect when I view my website from my laptop. Anyone know what I can do to fix this issue?

  • It’s because the actual uploaded image is sideways. You can see an example here and here.

    When you take a picture with a digital camera, information is stored with the picture that has, among other information, whether or not the camera was turned sideways to take the picture. Some applications will read that information and automatically turn the image so it’s oriented correctly. However, others will not, so what you need to do is use an image editor to save the image “right-side-up” (there’s probably some sort of rotation tool in the image editor) and re-upload the new image to your site.
