Images and PDF files disappeared from website

  • Hi,

    I noticed mission image on one of our pages.After that I found more missing images and PDF doc’s on some other pages. When tried to see what is the issue I found that image disappeared from media library. Also using FTP connection I found image disappeared from upload folder as well. That is strange, because I am the only admin, it looks like someone delete them.

    I did not install any new plugin or updated WP or modified theme. All plugins are up to date. WP version is 3.4.1. What can it be? Can hosting be responsible for something like this?

    It could be a hosting issue. Alternatively, perhaps your site’s security was compromised – it wouldn’t surprise me given that you are using an extremely old version of WordPress.

    If you don’t have your own backup, you may need to turn to your hosting provider for help.
