Images and Links not working in Newsletter

    Embedded images an links are not working within the manual composed newsletter.

    The problem within the mail is, that the ” are escaped with \” and so not correctly evaluated from the mail client.

    I was able to reproduce this on 2 different servers. One was Theme 2016 and no other plugins active.

    The following code is not working:

    <a title="blablal blabla" href="https://google.com" target="_blank"><em><strong>This is google →</strong></em></a>

    The link will be escaped and not correctly shown within the mail client.

    We’ve also run into this issue on the Post Notifications type. We’re seeing if we can track down the bug ourselves, but a plugin dev response would make it go much faster.
