• Hello – Im trying out plugin. The image quality of the images seem to be lower than the native Gutenberg gallery. Is there a setting where you can specify full quality?

    Thanks

    Hello,
the gallery uses Medium size images to display thumbnails and Large size images to display in the lightbox.
The sizes of these images are customizable in the WP Dashbord -> Settings -> Media.

Changes to these settings will only affect new images.

    Thanks for this,

So there is no compression or anything applied? And if Ive removed all your settings except a simple two column display for instance, the images should appear as they do in the media library? (as at present they are clearly lower quality side by side the default gallery)

The native gallery uses Large size images to display thumbnails instead of medium sized images. Which is bad for Page Speed.
But you can always adjust the thumbnails in the gallery to the maximum size and then large images will be used for the thumbnails.

Optimization of large images in WordPress is automatic – that is, WordPress creates at least three optimized copies for different situations

Thanks – tried all that. Still getting poorer quality reproduction on images when compared to images placed in media library. Shame cause I really like your plugin – the only one that works well with my page. I can send a screen shot if you wish.

It will be better if you give a link to the page

I published this so youcan see it.

The images from your plug in are the repreated ones. They appear midway in a two-column configuration (There’s a difference in the colour)…and the very last two images (singles) – your plug in is showing the bottom one.

The main task of my plugin is to display thumbnails quickly (small), and when you click on them, show large copies in a lightbox. If you don’t need a lightbox, then it’s easier for you to use the native gallery.

on your page, the native gallery displays pictures in their original size (1600x1063px), which is beautiful but not welcomed by search engines.

But you can always change the settings for thumbnails, as I said in my first answer (above) and increase the Medium size to 1600×1600 px and the Large size to 3000x3000px, and then my plugin will show the same pictures as a native gallery (but this is not the right way initially)

Thanks for that. Appreciate your time.
