Image/Media Uploader problems?

  • Hello, I first want to say that I have read the sticky on this issue as well as several other threads and nothing has helped me.

    I have WordPress 2.8.3 hosted on bluehost.com I installed WordPress using simplescrips.com which comes with my bluehost.com account. I think it installed WordPress 2.8.2 initially and I did the upgrade to 2.8.3 from within WordPress by clicking the upgrade button on the dashboard.

    I am having problems when trying to upload pictures or video. This is from withing FireFox or Safari and I have the latest version of flash as of last night, I think it is 10.33.18 or something like that.

    When I try and upload with the flash uploader I get an IO error. When I try and upload with the browser uploader it times out. Neither one works for me.

    This is a real bummer because my site is for my daughter. I want to post pictures and video of her for friends and family.

    If anyone can help me out please let me know. Thank you.

  • I too am having problems with the upload function on the mac. BUT, I’ve installed a databse on my local machine and used the upload function without incident so I don’t think it’s just a MAC issue.
    I’m getting an error about HTTP protocol. “CGI Error
    The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.”
    Any ideas?

    Hi Everyone, I seem to be having some issues with uploading some pictures into my media library on WordPress. Some are appearing on the blog with no problems, though there is no picture in the actual library – strange and other pictures are not appearing in the media library or on my blogs at all and this appears to have been since all my uploads after May 2009! Any ideas?

    Having similar problems on WP 2.8 in that when I click the icon, it lets me browse to the image and select it, but when I click upload, nothing happens. No error or anything and the image does not go into the uploads file.

    Have tried the following-
    -deactivating plugins
    -going back to default theme
    -downloading latest version of flash
    -checked miscellaneous settings for uploading files, it was fine
    -tried in both firefox and safari on my mac
    -also doesn’t work on colleague’s pc
    -right clicking on icon and opening new window

    Still having the problem.

    Any ideas??
