I’m using NextGen in Imagebrowser mode. I have manually sorted the gallery images.
For some reason Imagebrowser shows images in some weird random order.
The first image is ok (“picture 1 of 10”), but when I click on “next image”, it brings up “picture 3 of 10”, next one would be “picture 4 of 10, then “picture 6 of 10”, then “picture 5 of 10”
If I go backwards – I can suddenly see “picture 1 of 10” right after “picture 4 of 10”.
I have tried disabling ALL other plugins – nothing helped.
Any ideas what went wrong here?
I have WP 3.9.2 and NextGen 2.0.66.27 installed.
Any hep will be highly appreciated.

@lichicom – Have you tried clearing the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous?

@eleonormende – It would be best for you to start your own topic as there could be any number of variables that would make your issue different than the OP.

    Thanks!

@photocrati – Yes I have tried cleaning the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous and obviously all the browser’s caches imaginable. Didn’t help…

@lichicom – I have tried to recreate this issue you are describing and I am not able to do so on my test sites. Can you describe in detail the steps you took to create this gallery and insert the display?

Also, what settings are you using for sort order under Gallery > Other Options > Image Options?

    Thanks!

@photocrati – Well, first I created a new gallery and uploaded the images.
Then I inserted the gallery onto the page. Went back to “manage galleries” to sort the images’ order manually (to get them show up in some particular order). The order is perfectly fine under “manage galleries” and all images are sorted just the way I wanted them to be.
Once I saw that clicking on “next” takes me from “picture 1 of 10” to “picture 3 of 10”, I went back to the page, deleted the inserted gallery, saved the page, re-inserted the gallery, saved the page again — all that made no difference.
Went back to the plugings, dis-activated all other plugins – still no progress.
Upgraded to the current version of NextGen (can’t recall the initial NextGen version installed) — still no change.
As for the image options, all is default basically, the sorting method is “custom” and the sorting order is “ascending”.

Try to click on “next” and “back” and you’ll see the problem.

Thanks for the link, I did click through the gallery and find it even more interesting that only eight of the 10 images are being displayed in a more or less consistent order of 1, 3, 4, 6, 5, 7, 10, 2 as you click on the next button.

I have not seen this before, nor does there seem to be anything specifically out of place with how you inserted the display or your troubleshooting.

The only thing left at the moment would be to start again with uploading those images … although it could also be a case of special characters in the post title but I am not seeing that directly affecting the navigation links in the ImageBrowser display.

    Thanks Cais.
Re-uploading images solved the problem. Actually I created a new gallery and uploaded those images into the “fresh” gallery and it solved this really weird problem.
    Thanks for your help!

@lichicom – Great news! I wish I could offer a reason why that happened … please let us know if it happens again.

    Thanks!
