    Over the past month, my website, https://www.yalescientific.org, has ceased to show new featured images. From inside, it shows that all featured images return with the following error message:

    WP_Error Object ( [errors] => Array ( [image_no_editor] => Array ( [0] => No editor could be selected. ) ) [error_data] => Array ( ) )

    However, regular in-text images are shown properly. Please see the attached imgur album for how the website looks: https://imgur.com/a/WiBae

    On the server side, I have updated GD image library, and even installed ImageMagick. I suspect that this might be an issue with the theme, but I do not know how to properly edit it. We are using a modified version of the Allegro theme by Orange Themes.

    Please let me know what additional information may be needed to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, I am not a very skilled webmaster – I am actually editor of this publication, and have rather limited css/wordpress skills. Please let me know if there are any helpful places to look to resolve this issue!

    Hi all,

    We fixed the issue. The issue was with GD image library – we had php5-GD installed, even though we ran php 7.x. After installing the proper version of GD and then restarting the server, the images loaded properly.
