Image zoom bug?

When an image is not as wide as the area/container width of the image the zoomed image that is small than the container loads the same image over itself rather than being contained in the image area itself. (did that makes sense?)
For example and using the sample product that comes with the plugin.
I don’t use a sidebar at all. So my page width is wider for the left and right product divs. Now I alter the left and right divs to be 45% and 55% (instead of 55% and 45%). This then results in a wider image container which when hovered on shows the image over itself and has movement left or right.
Is there a way for the image to keep proportions and only zoom in the original image container.
