• Hi all – I love the idea of Image Widget and have been trying it out. However it seems to conflict with WordPress despite claiming it works with WP Image Manager

The basic problem is that if Image Widget is enabled I am unable to insert photos into any pages or posts. Using the standard ‘add media’ or ‘insert image’ brings up the media gallery, allows me to select my image and then I click ‘insert into post’. Then nothing happens – no image, no matter what I do.

The only way to get around it is to disable Image Widget – then everything works perfectly. I insert my images into the posts and then have to remember to re-enable Image Widget.

The problem with this is – when it is disabled I lose all of the sidebar images (it doesnt continue to display them if disabled even though the widgets are still in the sidebars) so for my entire editing session my site looks wrong and of course if I forget to re-enable the widget afterwards it stays that way.

Any way around this please guys?

Ok guys – I have been waiting 3 weeks for a reply now and nothing at all.

A plugin with no support is not really helpful, if there is no help at all then I’ll uninstall and review/rate the plugin as not working and no support.

    Hi ColinCook,

Let me start by saying, I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work for you. Please understand that I run this as a hobby. I make no money off of it. And I put in as much time as I have available.

Honestly there are 100’s of thousands of people using this plugin and it’s working for them so i’m quite confident that what you’re seeing is a conflict caused not simply by WordPress+image widget but also because of some other plugin / theme.

If you install a WordPress install and the only plugin you have active is Image Widget and the theme is the default theme, then it works fine.

That said, the problem you are describing sounds like a javascript conflict of some sort. Try inspecting the browser and looking at the ‘Console’ in the inspector to see if there are any javascript errors.

In Chrome you do this by right+clicking on the background and selecting ‘Inspect Element’. Then click the ‘Console’ tab and watch it as you click around. When you try to upload something and it doesn’t work, I expect you’ll see an error in there.
