I have to find a media category plugin that allows me to assign WordPress media items to a category so I can better organize and manage a large media library.

    Concern
What I have seen so far, as in another media folder management type plugin, is that it changes the WordPress default Permalink URL for the media item, which is actually changing to the folder name created by a plugin.

    Example:

WordPress Media Default Permalink URL: /wp-content/uploads/2020/01/(media file name)

Changed Media URL: /wp-content/uploads/logo/(media file name)

This leads me to ask a question here for clarification on how this plugin “Media Library Categories” works.

    Questions
    1. Will your plugin change or affect any Permalinks (URL’s) for any of the media items like the above example?
    2. If the answer to question #1 is Yes, then I ask what happens if your plugin is removed, does the media Permalinks (URL’s) return to WordPress Default or do they remain changed as in the example above?
    3. Whether or not question #1 & #2 applies, if I have to remove your plugin, then will the WordPress Media Library return to its default setup and layout and all images remain intact?
    4. Lastly, the plugin I am currently using has over 100,000 users and many more paid users, yet that plugin is now officially dead and no longer supported for updates. This leads me to ask, “do you plan to continue and support this plugin for a few years at least?” (I apologize for this blunt question, but abandoned plugins at www.remarpro.com is a serious concern for users).

Appreciate and Thank-you for your answers.

    I love it, precise answers.

Thank-you for your reply and the information.
…and yes (sadly), I have to migrate from Enhanced Media Library.

The answer to my question #1, was the crucial one. I have no desire to have permalinks changed to hundreds of photos, so the “No” answer is much welcomed.

From your screenshots in Envato/CodeCanyon page, looks very similar to the setup with Enhanced Media Library, which is just fine with me.

    Thanks Jeffrey-WP.
    (Yes, this is now resolved)
