Hello, I am trying to upload jpeg and png image files to my portfolio (a purchased theme). In the uploader it states the max upload file size is 33mb. I am uploading a jpeg file of 4.8 mb. It does not let me upload it and states this error message:

“instore top up.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.

I have tried uploading other images and I get the same error message.

Previously I was able to upload images before and now I get this message!

    What is the issue?

    Thanks

Looks like it may be a file-size limitation of your webhost and not the WP uploader. Check with your webhost for php configurations.

I called Go daddy my web host, and they said the issue wasnt on their end because my php uploading limit is 50mb.

I cant seem to upload anything without getting this error message now.

Well something is amiss here because the file-size directive mentioned above is pretty clear. php.ini isn’t (to my knowledge anyway) a part of a normal WP installation, but rather resides on the server side as part of your hosting environment. It is possible on some hosts to override this limit with your own settings (within reason) but not all.

See this thread for some more details.
