Image uploading Error

  • My problem is as follows:
    I start a new post, type what I want to type and then go to the “choose files to upload” button. I hit the browse button and select the file I need. The loading bar shows up and as soon as it seeems to be done crunching the file an error shows up in place of the add a caption area.

    The error reads like this:     Unable to create directory /wp-content/uploads/2008/12. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    What can I do to fix this?
