I have started to receive this error message when I try to add new images to an existing gallery:
    ***************************
    Failed to upload xxxxxxxx.jpeg
This looks like a network error, the endpoint might be blocked by an internet provider or firewall.
Source error [syntaxerror: Unexpected end of JSON input]
    **************************

Using WordPress 5.9.3 & running Twenty Seventeen theme. I have disabled all plug-ins and the issue is still there.

Have reported to my hosting but they haven’t been able to help so far.

    Hi @ianmcgarry,

The error looks to be pointing to a network error that’d usually mean a unstable internet connection or to it getting blocked by a hosting service or a plugin firewall.

Trying to use a different connection ( if available ) or checking the firewall’s logs might be helpful in the similar cases.

    Please help!

I have tried the following so far:

    Rolled back the current version
    Disabling mod_security
    Disabling all plugins except nextgen
    Trying different PHP versions
    Increasing PHP memory limit
Uploaded via gallery and direct drag & drop
Uploading by mobile network and my own wifi

    Nothing works!

    Hi @ianmcgarry,

Could you please try uploading images to WP Media to see if that’ll work? Please let us know.

no. any media upload doesn’t work. Have been forced to ditch NGG and use another gallery now as my client had a deadline.

I’d also check with the hosting to ensure there’s enough disk space on server for the images uploading.
