• Greetings! A few things. “Has this happened to you?”

When I upload an image, it is assigned to “admin” and placed in the “News” category as a post (albeit without any status of draft/private/published selected). I know this because if I search posts for the title or description, it shows up in the results!

Q: Is there a way to auto-assign upload ownership and category? Or should they not even show up in those results in the first place?

Also, as of WP 2.1, each upload is displayed twice in those search results. Again, perhaps they shouldn’t be there in the first place, but there you have it.

Also also (and this is not quite related to uploads), if I search for something with an apostrophe, we discover they haven’t been escaped during search! (MySQL error.) Mostly harmless but should be fixed as well.

That’s it! Keep at it with the point releases – more power to you, whoever you are. ?? Cheers …

Also also also … this is interesting: I uploaded a new image by creating a new post (but I didn’t save it – I just had to get to the upload section). Well, the file got uploaded, and I was able to search/edit it to adjust the category and ownership … but now it’s not listed in the uploads list!

Methinks that’s due to the (unorthodox?) way I went about adding it. But is there another way? “There’s got to be a better way!” ??
