Image Upload Problems: No Permission

I’m trying to do a test post, I’m setting up WordPress for the first time on my own server and trying to modify the template to match my website. I am very very new to all of this and I’m very confused. In trying to upload a new image to the post, I get the following error:

Unable to create directory D:\Hosting\2542608\html\weedygiraffe\wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I used to think I was somewhat knowledgeable in this stuff, but I’m beginning to doubt myself. Any help would be hugely appreciated! Thanks!
